Gnarly Nomad Gulch

Follow the Curtain Call Critters onto the hot gravely terrain of Gnarly Nomad Gulch. In this tasty recipe we recreated the unforgiving scorching desert scene of the Backyard Grand Prix. We crumbled cinnamon Graham crackers with our hands into the finest grains of sand. Next we added some large painted chocolate chunks as boulders. You may have seem the smaller versions of these chocolates in your favorite candy store or ice cream shop.

You can also make your own simply by painting some chocolate blocks with a thin coat of icing. For fun we added some toy race cars. Give it a try! Show us your best version of Gnarly Nomad Gulch!

Further down the race course we joined Roofus and Ruby raccoon as they attempted to cross Green Slime Eyeball Swamp, one of the trickiest race course spots in the Grand Prix. The only way over is to get your car across a rickety suspension bridge. Well we can tell you constructing a suspension bridge from red licorice was no easier than crossing the real swamp. We tried several attempts but ultimately fell in the swamp. On the positive side, licorice dipped in lime green jello tastes pretty good. Give our silly summer jello recipe a try. Fill your favorite bowl with the jello and as it forms up in the fridge add some gummy swamp critters to make it extra funny and creepy. Hopefully you have a lot of fun and don’t get slimed like Roofus and Ruby. Let us know if you tried other materials for the suspension bridge!

There are lots of yummy ways to create the scenes from this story! Maybe you can back some Old Twisty Purple Mountain cupcakes or envision a different tasty treat for the Valley of Pokey Cactus. While Green Slime Eyeball Swamp was our favorite we’d love to share new and yummy ideas created by you!
